The "Castle Inn" is located near the center of the old village of Werdum. We have made ourselves comfortable right here in Werdum, directly next to the old chieftain's castle.
Since the health resort of Werdum is not so large, the activity here is pretty quiet and peaceful - simply relaxing. However, there are also plenty of events and offers for your vacation. You are somehow right in the middle of country life...
So, you are vacationing right near the old Werdum castle and very close to the other attractions, such as the old church warf and the village square with the Werdum country brewery, the East Frisian Werdum mill, the "House of the Guest" with the Kneipp hall, the animal park that is especially popular with children, as well as other attractions of the village.
We have lovingly prepared five apartments and a few rooms for you. All accommodations are fresh, modern and cozy, as well as tastefully decorated for your best days of the year.
Double rooms and apartments are best suited for two to three people. Two of the rooms are in our guesthouse, are allergy-friendly and have their own balconies.
The state-recognized health resort of Werdum is located 4 km by air from the dike and the North Sea as a green oasis in the middle of East Frisian expanse. Werdum is a small and cozy village that invites its guests to all seasons, especially with peace and recreation, a little away from the tourist hustle and bustle of the seaside resorts.
There is everything you need: a lot of events (more than 100 in summer alone), "House of the Guest", spa facilities, the "Rasender Kalle" narrow gauge railway, guest bowling and bike tours with barbecues, wagon rides, riding for the disabled, gastronomy, coastal brewery and much more.
The animal park is particularly popular, where children can get up close to many rare domestic animal species and even pet them.
Werdum is an old grown Warfhaufendorf, whose history dates back to around the year 1300, and there is historical and landscape-typical architecture such as the chieftain's castle, the Dutch windmill from 1748, the St. Nicolai church or a blacksmith from old times.
The North Sea spa Neuharlingersiel - very close by - is a 300-year-old fishing village with an active crab fishing fleet. In the beautiful historic fishing harbor, East Frisian fishing is still actively lived by many crab fishing boats.
