Our farm "Altwerdumer Grashaus" with a holiday home and an apartment is the oldest working farm on the North Sea coast. Farmers have worked in and with these buildings since 1670, the year in which our house was built. The farm and its buildings were extensively and very elaborately restored in 1998 and 1999. On request, our large wind energy system can also be visited.
The holiday home and the apartment are fully equipped (e.g. with dishwashers) and are designed and furnished in a friendly and cozy manner.
The holiday home "Historisches Backhaus" is, as the name suggests, the former bakery of the farm and the surrounding farms. Now, as a holiday home, the "Historisches Backhaus" offers a lot of space and equipment on approximately 140 square meters of living space for a wonderful holiday for two to six people.
The holiday home has a very large living room with a fireplace and access to the large west terrace, a well-equipped kitchen, and a nice bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. In addition, there are three bedrooms on the upper floor. Around the house, there are further seating areas, for example, for a nice breakfast outdoors.
The apartment "Taubenschlag" with 70 square meters of living space is also very spacious and easily large enough for two to five people. Here, there is a living room with a spatially separated kitchen and access to the west terrace, a nice bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet, and two bedrooms.
There is always a lot going on on our farm - if you want it to be. First of all, the riding opportunities on two riding arenas (sand arenas) should be mentioned. There are two ponies and a horse on site, and it is possible to bring your own horses. On request, individual lessons can be given in the riding hall or on the riding arena. Your hostess is a trained hiking and riding instructor, and so there are horseback hiking tours through the beautiful East Frisian countryside by arrangement.
A campfire takes place under the very old linden trees every 14 days. There are also several outdoor playgrounds and a sand playground in the riding hall. And then there are, for example, three Dino cars (i.e. large GoCarts), one even with a trailer, a straw castle, a treehouse, and much more.
On our farm, there is also a lot of farm life, for example, eggs from free-range chickens. Let yourself be surprised and join in. Or simply indulge in the quiet and relaxing life on the farm "Altwerdumer Grashaus"!
Our farm "Altwerdumer Grashaus" is located in the immediate vicinity of the state-recognized health resort of Werdum, a green oasis of tranquility on the North Sea. Here you will find the quiet and healthy relaxation you expect from your North Sea holiday. Werdum, in turn, is very close to the North Sea spa of Neuharlingersiel and the "Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park".
It is not far to the old Warfendorf of Werdum, where you will find, for example, the "House of the Guest" and the Kneipp Hydrotherapy Hall. And right next to it, you will find the pet park, which is particularly popular with children, with many exotic pets to observe and even pet.
Since the health resort of Werdum is not so big, the events here are quite quiet and peaceful - relaxing. However, there are also a lot of events and offers for your holiday. You are kind of right in the middle of country life. The old church Warf and the village square with the Werdum Land Brewery, the East Frisian Werdum Mill, the "House of the Guest" as well as other attractions of the village.

The state-recognized health resort of Werdum is located 4 km from the dike and the North Sea as a green oasis in the middle of East Frisian expanse. Werdum is a small and cozy village that invites its guests to enjoy peace and relaxation away from the tourist hustle and bustle of the seaside resorts.
There is everything you need: a lot of events (more than 100 in summer alone), "House of the Guest", spa facilities, the Bimmelbahn "Rasender Kalle", guest bousing and cycling tours with barbecues, planwagen rides, riding for the disabled, gastronomy, coastal brewery, and much more.
The pet park is particularly popular, where children can get up close to many rare pet species and even pet them.
Werdum is an old grown Warf village, whose history dates back to around the year 1300, and there is historical and landscape-typical architecture such as the Häuptlingsburg, the Erdholländer windmill from 1748, the St. Nicolai Church, or a forge from the old days.
The North Sea spa of Neuharlingersiel - very nearby - is a 300-year-old fishing village with an active crab cutter fleet. In the beautiful historic fishing harbor, East Frisian fishing is still actively lived today by many crab cutters.
For your holiday, there is a rich tourist offer: the beach with a great water play facility "Platschi", indoor pool/sauna/Kursaal, Kurhaus, info center with children's playhouse "Leuchttürmchen", Sielhof as "House of the Guest", green areas, events, lovingly maintained historic harbor and many more offers.
Neuharlingersiel is located directly in the middle of the East Frisian North Sea coast opposite the island of Spiekeroog on the mainland.
Also in the immediate vicinity is the North Sea spa of Bensersiel. Bensersiel also has a lot to offer for sports, relaxation, and play, for example, two swimming pools: the seawater wave-free pool with a super slide and the bath landscape North Sea Therme "Sonneninsel". The "Sonneninsel" is a modern heated fun and leisure pool. Many spa facilities as well as a modern wellness, sauna, and fitness center are also located in the North Sea Therme "Sonneninsel".
There are also many offers for your health: health-promoting courses, fitness, and gymnastics courses in the Vital-Aktiv-Center; or take a beauty day and let yourself be pampered.
Bensersiel is located directly in the middle of the East Frisian North Sea coast opposite the island of Langeoog on the mainland.
Also nearby is Esens, the best parlor of the "Harlingerland". You can reach Esens by car, but even better by bicycle through the marshland. Here you can shop nicely on a nice stroll or go out to eat or take part in the wide range of various festivals and events. Your children should visit the indoor play park "Klabautermann" and have lots of fun there. The "Klabautermann" is a large hall full of ideas for playing and romping.
The great offer of Werdum, Neuharlingersiel, and Bensersiel is complemented in Esens by the over 475-year-old knight city with a historically grown city center. Here there are a lot of small and large events, museums, and other gastronomy and shopping opportunities.
