Our estate "Haus Sassenhof"/"Haus Hohe Lucht" with five comfortable and cozy holiday apartments and a holiday home of the same kind are located in the wonderfully idyllic farming village of Dunum, in close proximity to the North Sea resort Esens-Bensersiel on the East Frisian North Sea coast. Here you will find wonderful conditions for a beautiful and relaxing holiday in East Frisia.
Our five holiday apartments are about 65 square meters and 85 square meters in size and offer plenty of space for up to four or six people. Four of the five holiday apartments are located in the "Haus Sassenhof".
In the approximately 185 square meter holiday home "Hohe Lucht" you can enjoy your holiday with eight people plus two additional small children.
Our estate with the houses "Sassenhof" and "Hohe Lucht" is located away from the tourist bustle of the North Sea resorts on the North Sea coast. Here you can experience wonderful walks through the countryside and enjoy the nature and fresh air of East Frisia. And yet you can quickly get there by car or cycle to the coast. The fresh air you enjoy is healthy North Sea salt air!
On our estate there is plenty of space for the whole family. So there is plenty of opportunity for children to play and for adults to relax and sunbathe or for the whole family to barbecue.
Dunum is a small village and is located away from the main roads. Nevertheless, you can reach the coast by car in about ten minutes. The districts and farms are spread over a large area in Dunum. We offer you an unforgettable holiday with bossel games, barbecues on the village sports field, folk theatre, carriage rides and joint cycling and hiking tours.
Dunum is centrally located with excellent transport links to all excursion destinations in East Frisia. It is not far to the coast and thus to the tourist and spa facilities in the North Sea resorts Esens-Bensersiel or Neuharlingersiel. However, you do not have to pay a guest contribution with us. Only if the "Nordsee-ServiceCard" (spa card) is worthwhile for you, we also offer this offer.
Around Dunum you will find the original East Frisian hedge landscape, extensive wetlands with a beautiful and interesting flora and fauna as well as a large forest with a rich game population. You will be amazed at how often you can cycle over the side roads and cycle paths and observe numerous wildlife in the meadows and fields at dusk.
According to ancient legend, the "Radbodsberg" in Dunum is the burial place of the Frisian king Radbod. He was the only chieftain to unite all the Frisian tribes and win a historic victory against the Norsemen. Our old brick church from the 13th century is also a special attraction.
The East Frisia hiking trail runs directly through Dunum and offers you the healthiest connection to the North Sea by bike to the coastal and North Sea resorts or to the dike.
