Our estate "Haus Sassenhof"/"Haus Hohe Lucht" with five comfortable and cozy holiday apartments and a matching holiday home are located in the wonderfully idyllic farming village of Dunum in the immediate vicinity of the North Sea resort of Esens-Bensersiel on the East Frisian North Sea coast. Here you will find wonderful conditions for a beautiful and relaxing vacation in East Frisia.
Our five holiday apartments are approximately 65 square meters and 85 square meters in size and offer plenty of space for up to four or six people. Four of the five holiday apartments are located in the "Haus Sassenhof".
In the approximately 185 square meter holiday home "Hohe Lucht" you can enjoy your vacation with eight people plus two additional small children.
Our estate with the houses "Sassenhof" and "Hohe Lucht" is located away from the tourist hustle and bustle of the North Sea resorts on the North Sea coast. Here you can experience great walks through the countryside and enjoy the nature and fresh air of East Frisia. And yet you are quickly there by car or by bicycle to the coast. The fresh air you enjoy is pure North Sea saltwater!
There is plenty of space for the whole family on our estate. There is therefore plenty of opportunity for children to play, adults to relax and sunbathe, or for the whole family to barbecue.
Dunum is a small village and is located away from the main roads. Nevertheless, you can reach the coast by car in about ten minutes. The districts and farms are spread out in Dunum. We offer you an unforgettable vacation with Bossel games, barbecue evenings on the village sports field, folk theater, carriage rides and joint bike and hiking tours.
Dunum is centrally located with excellent transport connections to all excursion destinations in East Frisia. The coast and the tourist and spa facilities in the North Sea resorts of Esens-Bensersiel or Neuharlingersiel are not far away. However, you do not have to pay a guest contribution with us. Only if the "North Sea Service Card" (spa card) is worthwhile for you, we also offer you this offer.
Around Dunum you will find the original East Frisian hedge landscape, extensive wetlands with a beautiful and interesting flora and fauna as well as a large forest with rich wildlife. You will be amazed at how often you can cycle along the minor roads and cycle paths and observe numerous wild animals on the meadows and fields in the dusk.
According to an old legend, under Dunum's "Radbodsberg" lies the tomb of the Frisian king Radbod. He managed as the only chief to unite all Frisian tribes and to achieve a historic victory against the Norsemen. Our old brick church from the 13th century is also a special attraction.
The East Frisian hiking trail runs directly through Dunum and offers you the healthiest connection to the North Sea in the coastal and North Sea spas or to the dike by bicycle. For this, we Dunumers have also prepared a cycling and hiking map for you. On the way to the beach in nearby Bensersiel, you pass through the old knight's town of Esens north of Dunum. There is, for example, the indoor play park "Klabautermann" for children and a rich offer of gastronomic, shopping and leisure opportunities for adults.
